Founder/Facilitator
I’m originally from England, where my journey began working in mental health and support roles while completing Life Coaching and Massage qualifications rooted in a deeper desire to support others. That experience shaped my deep passion for people, understanding what helps us feel safe, seen, and genuinely happy.
Travel quickly became a huge part of my path. What started as a short adventure turned into a lifestyle of exploration, learning, and growth. Along the way, I stepped into the world of movement and expression, becoming a circus teacher with a love for inversions, aerial, flying trapeze, and flow arts, all practices that invite play, trust, and connection.
My journey eventually led me to Indonesia, where I completed my yoga teacher training. Yoga brought everything together for me; the mind, the body, and the deeper layers of being.
At the heart of everything I do is a long held dream to create a sanctuary. A space where people can slow down, reconnect, feel supported, and be themselves. I care deeply about kindness, equality, community, and our connection to the natural environment.
This retreat is a reflection of that vision, a space to move, breathe, share, and grow together.

Luke Williams
Founder/Facilitator
Before the ocean took centre stage, I worked as an actor and theatre practitioner in London—a world of stories, presence, and human connection. Then surfing entered the picture, and it quietly reframed everything. The water became a place where performance fell away and a raw, honest relationship with nature took its place.
Over the past decade, I’ve coached across Australia, the UK, Portugal, Sri Lanka, Japan, Indonesia, and of course Costa Rica—guiding surfers into better waves and, more importantly, into a deeper bond with the sea. My sessions are built around the conviction that the ocean offers more than a ride. It offers an encounter with something alive: the reef fish darting below, the arc of a seabird, the quiet rhythm of swell against rock.
Now, as one of the founders of Surf Asana, I bring together technical surf coaching and a much needed, connection with nature. My theatre roots remain an undercurrent—in the empathy I bring to every surfer, the stories that frame a lesson, and the belief that the most powerful guides are the ones who’ve been genuinely changed by what they teach.

Our Mission
Creating A Sanctuary
Our mission is to create a space where people can reconnect to themselves, to nature, and to each other. Through the balance of surf, yoga, and mindful movement, we aim to inspire a sense of presence, play, and personal growth.
We believe in slowing down, embracing the ocean as a teacher, and moving our bodies in ways that feel freeing rather than forced. This retreat is about more than just activities, it’s about cultivating confidence, building meaningful connections, and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels seen, included, and encouraged to be themselves.
Rooted in values of kindness, sustainability, and community, we’re here to offer an experience that nourishes both body and mind, and leaves you feeling more aligned, energized, and connected than when you arrived.
